Tetris Puzzle Game
This activity promotes sensory-driven and emphasize hands-on, purposeful engagement. Print a copy of the completed tetris puzzle (optional to laminated too) before you inviite your resident.

  • Prepare the environment with a well-lit space free of clutter. Lay out a wooden Tetris board and 7–10 large, colorful shapes and printed completed tetris puzzle.

  • Invite Participation: “Would you like to help me fit these shapes?” or“Let’s see where this piece might go.” Offer a clear choice: “Would you like the red piece or the yellow one?”
  • Demonstrate & Engage: Model one placement slowly, narrating each step: “I’m turning this piece to make it fit here.” Hand the resident a piece and ask: “Can you find where this one might go?”
  • If they hesitate, offer subtle guidance: “Let’s try turning it this way.”
  • Celebrate every effort: “Great job! That fits nicely.”
  • If frustration arises, switch to sorting pieces by color or shape
  • Repeat the same puzzle on another day—familiar tasks build comfort
