Golf Balls and Mini-Muffin Tin

Using golf balls and a mini-muffin tin is a simple yet effective activity for individuals with dementia. This activity helps improve fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and provides a sense of accomplishment.

You will need 12 golf balls (white and/or colored) and a mini-muffin tin or an egg carton. Explain the task to the participant. Show them how to place the golf balls into the muffin tin or egg carton. Start with a simple demonstration of how to place the golf balls in the tin or carton. For example, show how to place one golf ball at a time into compartments.

  • Fine Motor Skills: Handling and placing the golf balls helps improve dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Cognitive Stimulation: The activity requires concentration and problem-solving, which can help stimulate cognitive functions.
