Classc Cars Matching 

Photo cards 

  • show 7 classic cars (e.g., Ford Mustang, Cadillac Eldorado) with the car names and then don't the participant see it again until later)
  • of 7 classic cars (e.g., Ford Mustang, Cadillac Eldorado) with no names
  • Name cards in large, bold print (cut out names from the print sheet with the car names)
  • Optional: toy cars, car-themed music, or a steering wheel prop for fun

 Step-by-Step Matching Activity

  1. Start with One Car Image
    • Show a photo and say:
      “This car has big fins and shiny chrome. Let’s find its name.”
  2. Offer 2–3 Name Cards
    • Say: “Here are some names. Which one do you think matches this car?”
  3. Support with Gentle Cues
    • “This one is called the Chevrolet Bel Air. Can you say that with me?”
    • “Let’s place the name card under the picture.”
  4. Encourage Conversation
    • “Did you or someone you know ever drive a car like this?”
    • “What color would you paint this one?”
  5. Celebrate the Match
  6. “Yes! That’s the Mustang. You’ve got a great eye!”
