Each piece usually has a small part of a picture on it; when complete, a jigsaw puzzle produces a complete picture. Many participants begin by sorting pieces by color and edge pieces. Edge pieces are those with a flat side, which will form the puzzle’s border. Make sure you have the picture (solution) of the puzzle for them to look at.
